As I write this blog post, there are 8 days, 15 hours, and 15 minutes left until registration closes for the European Food Projects | Case Competition 2025. This competition is the brainchild of Tim T’Seyen, who for years has wanted to create something that makes the transition from education to employment easier for new graduates. That is exactly what we want to achieve with this competition, with Primavika as our industrial partner. We aim to provide a platform for individuals in the food industry to showcase their innovative ideas and technical skills by developing a plant-based food product concept.
The food industry is changing faster than ever before. Innovation is no longer an outlier—it’s a necessity. Building skills in the alternative protein sector early in your career offers you the opportunity to be part of the larger sustainability movement that’s gaining momentum globally, especially in the EU with increasing funding and support for the plant-based and alternative food sector.
So here’s what we need from you: Submit one or at most two ideas for plant-based products within the defined specifications (to be shared after registrations close). Tell us about your inspiration, expected nutritional values, and why you think you should win. Along with your submission, attach a high-quality image so we can visualize your idea as you envision it. In return, you get the chance to win a cash prize if you make it to the top three, get noticed by industry leaders and their networks, and learn from experts with experience in the field.
All of us at European Food Projects are excited to see your participation. We’ve been working on this project for a while now, and seeing it gain traction has been a truly rewarding experience. We’d love for you to get to know us as we learn about you. So here’s a quick introduction to the EFP team:
